Yes they do. We manufacture our own patented suction cup from virgin polymers, for pliability, UV resistance, and holding power. We do not use imported, or off-spec materials in their manufacture. Just follow the simple guidelines on the package for best results. We sell a lot of our products to Charter Captains for use on their boats, and they love the ease of mounting, and the ability to move the items around to suit number of people on the charter. They usually give them to their clients at the end of the day.

No. You must use on a non-porous surface, such as fiberglass, smooth aluminum or steel, or very highly polished and sealed wood. A rough surface, that lets air interupt the vacuum, will not allow the suction cups to stick. This is why you never see suction cups mounted on trees

Washed your boat lately? Sometimes a residue of dust, grime, or cleaning chemical residue builds up on fiberglass, which allows air to interupt the surface of the cup, and causes it to lose vacuum. The solution that works most often, is to rinse the area with clear water, and dry thoroughly. Then mount the BoatMates product to the clean surface. Also, most spray cleaners leave a residue on the surface of the fiberglass. Make sure you thoroughly rinse the area with clean water before mounting, if you have used spray cleaners on your boat.

Many of our retail partners stock our item 2200, replacement cups. If you cannot find them at your retailer, call us, and we can replace them.

Usually they will last for several seasons. In extremely hot climates, 2-3 years is normal, due to the high UV levels, which will more rapidly deteriorate resin products (including fiberglass). Replace your cups with our item #2200, every few years.

All of our products can be mounted to aluminum, wood, or ferro cement (remember that stuff?!), by using an acrylic based marine tape, or good old screws. Many of our customers with fiberglass boats use the suction cups to get a feel for where they want to use the product, then mount it permanently after a while.
